An Irvine man died Friday night when he and his 4-year-old son were hit by a vehicle while trick-or-treating. John Roger Alcorn, 65, was struck by the vehicle about 7:15 p.m. on West Yale Loop near Burwood Street in Irvine, and later died from his injuries. Alcorn's son, who has not been identified, sustained serious injuries and is hospitalized at a local trauma center in critical condition.
