Border Patrol crashes into tree in Campo, driver trapped.

A Border Patrol agent was injured in a crash early Friday morning.
A Border Patrol agent was injured in a crash early Friday morning. The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on Buckman Springs Road, just south of Lake Morena Drive in Campo. According to the California Highway Patrol, the Border Patrol agent's vehicle slid off the road, which was wet from rainfall, and struck a large tree. The agent, a 26-year-old, ended up with a fractured right hand and several facial lacerations but was otherwise fine. He was transported to a hospital for treatment. The collision is under investigation. At this time CHP reports that alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
