Motorcyclist killed when his bike crashes into turning car.

A motorcyclist died after crashing into a vehicle early Sunday morning, El Cajon police said.

The collision was reported near West Washington and Van Houten avenues about 5:55 a.m., police said in a news release.

The motorcycle was headed west on Washington Avenue when a vehicle turned from east Washington onto north Van Houten in front of the rider, the release said. The motorcyclist wasn't able to stop and crashed into the vehicle.

Emergency responders performed CPR, but the rider was pronounced dead at the crash site, police said. No one in the vehicle was injured.

Alcohol was not believed to be factor in the crash.
