A young volunteer firefighter from Niagara Falls serving in the Marine Corps was killed in the aftermath of a four-car accident Saturday morning in San Diego, Calif.

A U.S. Marine was killed and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on Interstate 8 in near state Route 163, authorities said.

The crash was on the westbound side of I-8 about 5 a.m., according to the CHP. One of the vehicles crashed into a barrier and another three cars slammed into it.
The Medical Examiner's Office stated that person killed in the crash, later identified as Ricky Jones, was a 20-year-old, active-duty Marine.
Three other people were injured in the crash; two were taken to Rady Children's Hospital and one other to Scripps Mercy Hospital, according to the CHP.
The crash is under investigation
