Man killed when struck by vehicle while running from multiple-vehicle crash on Route 78 near Barham Drive in San Diego, California

Motorist fleeing crash is killed

The accident led to snarled morning commute in North County. 
Around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, several vehicles were involved in a collision on SR-78  eastbound. A person in one of the vehicles involved in the crash then exited his vehicle and ran into the westbound lanes of the road, where he was struck and killed by a vehicle. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
