A woman was hit on East Cotati Avenue at La Plaza at about 7:30 p.m., Fire Capt. Pete Albini said.

The Cotati Police Department is investigating two crashes that occured almost simultaneously in downtown Cotati. A woman was crossing East Cotati Avenue when she was struck by a car and suffered serious head injuries. About a block away another person was hit, a man who stepped out from behind a parked car on Old Redwood Highway. He suffered hip, leg, shoulder, and abdomen injuries. Both victims were transported to Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa.
