Fremont man killed in solo car crash last week identified

Officers responded to a report of a solo car crash in the area of Fremont Boulevard and Thornton Avenue at 10:43 p.m. Tuesday, Fremont police said. 
A van driven by 45-year-old Patrick West was traveling northbound on Fremont Boulevard near Thornton Avenue when it crashed into a tree in the center median, according to police. Alcohol may have been a factor. Any witnesses to the accident are urged to contact Fremont police at (510) 790-6760 or trafficunit@fremont.gov.
