Police searching for Kelvin Govan, 29, after chase ends in crash on 85th Avenue in Oakland, California; 6-year-old daughter left in vehicle

Police said Kelvin Govan, 29, left his 6-year-old daughter in a wrecked vehicle after he lost control and crashed into a wall on 85th Avenue during a pursuit with officers. Officers were searching for suspects in an armed home invasion robbery that occurred Thursday morning in San Leandro. Around 12:45 p.m., officers spotted a vehicle resembling the suspect vehicle on East 14th Street in Oakland, and when they tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver accelerated, leading officers on a high-speed pursuit, police said. After the crash, the driver, identified as Govan, and a passenger fled the vehicle, leaving the Govan’s injured 6-year-old daughter behind, police said. The passenger was apprehended following the crash, but Govan was not located.
