San Jose: Two women seriously injured in four-car I-680 crash

Two women suffered major injuries in a four-car collision on Interstate Highway 680 in San Jose early Tuesday morning, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said. Around 2:45 a.m., one of the women was driving a 2006 Honda Civic on northbound Highway 680 near North Capitol Avenue, where she lost control of the vehicle and veered to the left, striking the center divider wall, CHP Officer Ross Lee said. The Honda bounced back into traffic lanes and became disabled, Lee said. Soon afterward, a man driving a brown 1998 Nissan Altima struck the Honda's rear and crashed into the center divider, Lee said. A man in a white Nissan Altima heading north saw the collision and swerved to the right, but sideswiped the Honda, Lee said.
