Father dies driving pregnant wife to hospital

BELLVUE - A father, driving his pregnant wife to the hospital, instead crashed the family car and died before seeing his third child's birth. She also suffered a broken back, according to the family's GoFundMe page. The family was heading to the hospital for Jill to give birth to their third child in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 13. Jill Schmucker, 35, was in the family's Nissan Pathfinder SUV, alongside her husband, Tony, and their two other children. Tony, 37, was rushed to Porter Valley Hospital by an ambulance, but did not survive.

Father Dies In Crash While Driving Pregnant Wife ToHospital

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)– A man who crashed while driving his pregnant wife to the hospital has died but his wife, newborn and two sons survived. The crash happened west of Fort Collins on Larimer County Road 23 at Lodgepole Drive West. One of the two children in the car was able to call 911 for help since both of his parents were unconscious. Paramedics were able to save the mom and two children but Tony Schmucker died. Investigators believe he had a medical emergency that caused him to crash.

As Tony was driving Jill to the hospital to deliver their 3rd son, Tony had a medical issue that caused him to wreck the family vehicle. Tony passed away and Jill was taken to the hospital to have an emergency C-section to deliver their son. We have just learned that this afternoon, that Jill is in surgery to repair her broken back that she received in the accident. She is expected to make a full recovery. But with 3 small children, she is going to need lots of support.
