Accident closes southbound lanes of Third Street Tunnel

D.C. Police closed the southbound lanes of the Third Street Tunnel after a Wednesday evening collision injured at least three people, a spokesman said. Officer Hugh Carew, a department spokesman, said the 4:46 p.m. crash shut down the tunnel at the 4th Street and New York Avenue NW entrance. Lanes were still closed as of 5:30 p.m.
