3 adults, 2 children seriously injured in crash on Roosevelt Boulevard

Five people, including two children, were taken to the hospital Monday night following a three-vehicle crash on Roosevelt Boulevard near Wabash Avenue. The injuries to all five people are serious, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff'€™s Office. The two children are ages 3 and 4. One vehicle was traveling northbound on Roosevelt and another was traveling southbound when one of the cars ran a stop light and crashed into the other. That collision caused those cars to hit a third car at the intersection.

Passenger in Monday crash on Roosevelt Blvd. dies day before 88th birthday

A Jacksonville woman died Wednesday, a day before her 88th birthday, following a traffic crash Monday, according to the Sheriff'€™s Office. Vita F. Warren of Rio St. Johns Drive was the front passenger in a Mercury turning into a parking lot in the 4500 block of Roosevelt Boulevard about 6:30 p.m., the Sheriff'€™s Office said. A Toyota coming in the opposite direction struck the Mercury, forcing it into a another vehicle that was leaving the parking lot. No other names were released as police continue their investigation.

Woman hurt in Roosevelt Blvd. crash dies

A woman injured in a serious three-car accident on Roosevelt Boulevard Monday evening has died, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Five people, including Warren, were taken to hospitals with serious injuries. Vita Warren, 87, was the right front passenger in a Mercury vehicle that was turning into the Roosevelt Square shopping plaza when it collided with a Toyota vehicle that was traveling northbound on Roosevelt Boulevard. Warren died from her injuries Wednesday, police said. The Toyota's front hit the Mercury on the right front side and the Mercury was pushed into another vehicle that was leaving the parking lot.
