One Injured in School Bus Accident in Hialeah

The Hialeah Fire Department came to the scene and cut the roof off of the car to get the driver out of the damaged vehicle.
A school bus accident left a car pinned against a tree in Hialeah Gardens on Sunday. The driver of the car suffered internal trauma and head injuries in the crash but is expected to survive. The crash took place near the city limits of Hialeah Gardens and the city of Hialeah at W 68th Street and 30th Avenue. The driver of the car took a red light while driving east on W 68th Street and was hit by the bus on the passenger side of the car as he crossed the intersection. The car was pushed several feet until it became pinned against a tree. The injured driver was taken to Palmetto General Hospital and then airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. There were children riding in the bus when the crash happened, but none were injured.
