1 killed, 2 injured in 2-car crash in Altoona

Florida Highway Patrol said one person was killed and two others were injured Tuesday in a crash at County Road 445 and State Road 19 in Altoona. Officials said a 1998 Lincoln SUV was traveling westbound on County Road 445 and failed to stop at the intersection with State Road 19. In the intersection, the SUV collided head-on with a 2009 Pontiac four-door car that was heading northbound on State Road 19. The 46-year-old woman driving the SUV and her 15-year-old boy passenger, both of Astor, sustained serious injuries. The 69-year-old Tallahassee woman driving the Pontiac was pronounced dead.

Tallahassee woman killed in Lake County crash

A Tallahassee woman was killed and two others seriously injured in a two vehicle crash Tuesday night in Lake County. The crash happened around 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 445-A and State Road 19. Edwards and her passenger, 15-year-old Keegan Edwards, were both transported to Ocala Regional Medical center in serious condition. Troopers said Edwards’ SUV traveled into the intersection and struck the front of another vehicle head-on. The female river of that vehicle, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Christine Edwards, 46, was driving a 1998 Lincoln SUV west on County Road 445-A around 7:20 p.m., FHP Sgt. Kim Montes said. She came to a stop sign at the intersection with State Road 19, but did not stop, Montes said.
