Second victim identified in fatal wreck

For unknown reasons, the SUV traveled into the eastbound lanes and struck Culp’s 2014 Chevy truck head on. The collision spun the truck into Garber’s Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Two dead in Lake County crash on SR 46

Medlin was pronounced dead at the scene while the Sanford man, who has not been identified, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, FHP said.

Two men died Tuesday evening in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 46 in Lake County, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

Ryder Medlin, 19, of Mount Dora, was driving an SUV westbound on SR 46 near County Road 437 around 5:30 p.m. when he crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 62-year-old Sanford man, officials said.

The pickup spun counter clockwise and struck a Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by 52-year-old Lisa Garbers of Longwood.

Medlin was pronounced dead at the scene while the Sanford man, who has not been identified, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, FHP said.

Garbers suffered minor injuries.

All three were wearing seat belts.

Medlin's alcohol tests are pending, FHP said.
