The Hall County Fire Services Marine Rescue unit was on the scene and will be assisting the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the agency received a call about 9:20 p.m. that a rental boat carrying Young Tae Shim, 34, and So Yang Kim, 29, had run aground and capsized.

Authorities say a woman killed and a man injured in a boat crash on Lake Lanier are believed to be a husband and wife from Buford.
One person was killed and another injured in a boat accident at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. The wreck occured in the Chestatee Bay area of the lake off Georgia 369. The person that survived was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. More information will be posted once it is released.
