A Georgia sheriff was killed while on a high-speed chase Tuesday around midnight. 

Montgomery County Sheriff killed in wreck, suspect caught

A manhunt ensued for the suspect. His name is Jim Edward Lowery. Georgia State Patrol said the incident began after midnight in Toombs County.

The suspect’s vehicle continued into Uvalde in Montgomery County. Uvalde police was able to stop the vehicle.
