56-year-old woman critically injured in pedestrian collision with car on Waialae Avenue in Kaimuki, Hawaii

A 56-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition Monday evening after she was hit by a car in Kaimuki while crossing the street, according to the Honolulu Police Department. Police said just before 7 p.m., a gray Toyota struck the Aiea woman, who was walking in a marked crosswalk on Waialae Avenue near Center Street. The victim was then taken to the Queen'€™s Medical Center with critical injuries. The 62-year-old male driver was not injured. Police said it does not appear that speed, alcohol or drugs were factors.
