UPDATE: Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with Dog in Boise

Police say they received reports that the dog was not on a leash.

Motorcyclist killed in collision with dog

Bogue said he felt terrible that the motorcycle rider lost his life, but argues that speed, not his pet, was responsible.
Rick Bogue was walking his dog Ember across West Camas Way at about 10:30pm when a motorcycle that he claims was speeding struck his dog. Although he was wearing a helmet, the motorcyclist, identified as Matthew T. Bacon, 29, died at the scene of the crash, and Ember died after being taken to a veterinarian. Bogue has said that while Ember was not on a leash at the time, she was right next to him and was not wandering, and that it was Bacon's excessive speed that caused the collision. Investigation continues, but there have been no charges as of now.
