ISP Sgt. David Poynter told the Herald Bulletin that the car went into the southbound lane and hit the motorcycle.

She said that family members were notified of Gillespie's death and Robert Loose Funeral Home in Anderson was handling the funeral arrangements.

When he slowed his Malibu, the Silverado crashed into the Malibu and knocked it into the southbound lane, where it struck Gillespie on the motorcycle. 

Lloyd Gillesprie, 70, of Fortville, Indiana, died Wednesday after a head-on motorcycle collision. Gillesprie was riding his motorcycle on southbound Ind. 67 in Pendleton when a Chevrolet Malibu struck him from the northbound lane. The Malibu, driven by Darius McGhee, 19, was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Silverado pickup and catapulted into the southbound lane when McGhee slowed down for a northbound semi truck turning into a business driveway. The driver of the Silverado, Conner Gaskill, 16, and McGhee were not injured. Gillespie was wearing a helmet during the crash.
