Ashley Hichen, 27, dies in 2-vehicle accident on I-65 in Bartholomew County, Indiana

According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, a 27-year-old Merrillville woman, Ashley Hichen, died in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 65 south of Walesboro. The woman reportedly drove off the road, struck a guardrail, and came to a stop, at which point she was struck by a van driven by 35-year-old Jonathon Achterhos of Holland, Michigan. Police say the accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
