"It's a busy crossing for sure," Jones added,"there's been a number of accidents here. There's a couple of crosses on the other side of the crossing."
John Young Middle School student Zachary Bielinski, 15, was struck and killed by a train around 5:00 p.m. Thursday in Mishawaka at a railroad crossing near main street. The boy was struck while standing on the north track watching an eastbound train pass. Witnesses say the train sounded its horn for what seemed like 30 seconds. The death has been ruled an accident.
