2 killed in early-morning wreck in Jefferson County

Two men were killed early Saturday when the car they were riding in left a highway in Jefferson County and overturned multiple times, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported. The wreck occurred inside the city limits of Nortonville at the intersection of US-59 and K-4 highways, the KHP website said. The dead men weren't wearing safety restraints, the KHP said. The car was traveling northbound on US-59, didn't stop at the intersection with K-4, entered a ditch and rolled multiple times, the KHP report said. The report didn't indicate what speed the car was traveling or why it went off the pavement.
