Robinson said she died from blunt force impact resulting from the crash. Robinson also said Hurt was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Driver charged with murder, DUI in deadly Dixie Highway crash

Thompson is charged with one count of murder, three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of wanton endangerment, one count of aggravated DUI - second offense, one count of criminal mischief, one count of driving on a suspended license, and one count of driving without insurance. 
One woman is dead after a car crash that happened early Sunday morning. Authorities have identified the victim as 26-year-old Shelley Ann Hurt. She reportedely died from blunt force impact resulting from the crash. Hurt was riding in the front seat passenger side of a silver Crown Victoria.  Authorities say the Crown Victoria was making a turn into a business when it cut off another vehicle. The accident occured in the area of Dixie Highway and Greenwood Road at around 4 a.m. The driver of the Crown Victoria was sent to University Hospital. Two men and one woman were in the other car involved in the accident. They were also taken to the hospital and officials say they are expected to fully recover. Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. Check for updates on this emerging story.
