Jamie Lynn Spears' Daughter Is Reportedly In Serious Condition After ATV Accident: 'Pray For Our Baby'
According to TMZ, Maddie was underwater for several minutes and unconscious after an off-road vehicle she was riding flipped over. She was then airlifted to a nearby hospital.
We're told Jamie Lynn was not with her daughter when the accident occurred. And, we're told, Maddie was involved in a hunting expedition at the time of the accident.
Within seconds, the child's mother, step-father and other family members reached the pond, dove in and attempted to rescue her. However, a seat belt and the vehicle's safety netting held the girl down, and family members were unable to free her, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter, Maddie Spears Aldridge, was on an off-road vehicle Sunday afternoon when it flipped over into and landed in nearby water.
The young girl was airlifted to a nearby hospital where she is listed in serious condition.
A spokesperson for the Diocese of Baton Rouge says students at a Hammond school are praying for Aldridge.
Dr. Melanie Verges, the superintendent of the diocese, says administrators at Holy Ghost School in Hammond are trying to be as calm as possible in the wake of reports of her Sunday accident near Amite.
A spokesperson for the Spears family also said that 8-year-old Maddie was taken off of her ventilator and was receiving oxygen. Doctors believe she has not suffered any brain damage, but she continues to be closely monitored.
