Auburn crash seriously hurts driver, closes Washington Street

Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to free Michael Lahey, 54, from his mangled Kia Spectra after the 6:30 p.m. Wednesday crash sent the car spinning to the side of the road. Lahey was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with a variety of wounds, including broken bones, cuts and possible internal injuries. The driver of the truck, Mark Andrews, 52, of New Gloucester, was not hurt, police said. After the collision, his rig crashed over an embankment and onto a lawn at the corner of Poland Spring Road, and one of its fuel tanks ruptured. Police notified the Maine Department of Environmental Protection of the potential for spilled fuel.

Raymond man critically injured in crash

AUBURN, Maine '€” A man from Raymond is in the hospital fighting for his life after a horrific crash in Auburn. Police are still trying to figure out why he crossed the center line. Auburn police said Michael Lahey, 54, crossed the center line and hit a tractor-trailer. The crash happened at the intersection of Washington Street and Poland Spring Road around 6:30 p.m. Lahey is in critical condition at Central Maine Medical Center.

recommend a drug test on the truck driver.    

I don't understand why your demanding a drug test on the truck driver. Mike crossed the center line and hit the truck. Mike also has a long history of insurance fraud drug use and theft. The truck driver is the victim here

CDL holders are tested for drugs/alcohol after any fatal collision - DOT requires it 

also for any collision resulting in someone being transported for medical care - sorry
