Fatal crash closes part of Randolph Road in Silver Spring

Authorities said the crash on part of Randolph Road is a fatality. The person’s name was not released at this time.

Fatal crash reported in Colesville area

Witnesses say the driver stayed at the first crash scene. Three people possibly fled the scene. Police say the two crashes may or may not be related. 

Drugs were found inside of the SUV in the second crash. It is not clear who is being charged in this incident, however both the driver and passenger are in custody of the police. Witnesses say they saw four people in the SUV. Police are searching for two occupants on the run.

Police Search for Cause of Fatal Colesville Crash, Second Wreck Nearby

Investigators say a 2009 Toyota Camry was eastbound in the 200 block of Randolph Road just before Locksley Lane when the car went off the roadway and struck a tree. The Camry came to rest in a residential yard; the adult driver died at the scene.

Links to robbery probed in fatal Colesville crash

Investigators said that the 2005 black Mercury Mountaineer involved in the crash that killed Victoria Hitchins was also involved in a less serious wreck two days earlier at a McDonald’s parking lot in Olney. The SUV also might have been involved in a robbery on June 16.
