Police ID woman killed in crash on Darnestown Road

Police have identified the woman who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Darnestown Road Monday morning.

Montgomery County Police say a man was driving a Ford F-250 pickup truck in the 20700 block of Darnestown Road when he crossed into the opposite lane, hitting Riggs' Subaru Forester head-on around 7:40 a.m.

Woman dies in crash in upper Montgomery County

Police said that they did not know why Bynaker, 19, crossed into oncoming traffic. He was hospitalized with serious injuries which police said are not life-threatening. Officer Nicole Gamard said police are investigating possible factors, which could include alcohol or icy roads.

Amy Riggs was driving a grey Subaru east on Darnestown road when a Ford F-250 crossed the centerline and struck Rigss' vehicle head-on. The F-250 rolled several times and hit a Kia Sorento before coming to a stop. Riggs sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The driver of F-250,  Kenneth Bynaker Jr., suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the Sorento, Christine Goldstein, was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries. No one else was injured in the accident, but a fourth vehicle was struck by debris and sustained damage.
