Man struck and killed by train in Dedham

A man was struck and killed by a train in Dedham on Tuesday afternoon. The MBTA is now busing passengers between Dedham and Readville stations. Police are now investigating the incident. Stay with 7News as this story develops.

UPDATE: 13-Year-Old Killed by Train in Dedham

At around 4:20 p.m., MBTA Transit police received a report of a person who was struck by a train near the Endicott Station in Dedham. According to a preliminary investigation, the victim was trespassing on the tracks when he was hit.

13-year-old Eric Plathe killed by commuter train in Dedham Tuesday

Transit police said in a statement that the boy was trespassing on Track 1 around 4:20 p.m. when he was hit by the Franklin Branch train. He was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
