A multiple-car crash on Route 1 in Peabody this afternoon sent a state trooper to the hospital, State Police said. None of the people in the other vehicles were injured, officials said.

The four-car collision, which included a State Police cruiser, occurred at about 2 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway, according to a State Police spokesman . The trooper operating the vehicle suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. He was taken to North Shore Medical Center’s Salem Hospital, said police. No one in the other vehicles was injured, State Police said. The left lane was closed while State Police, Peabody firefighters, and Peabody police investigated, said police. All lanes have since been reopened, officials said.
