Vandeusen struck Joshua Macro, 24, with his pickup truck in the Onset section of town at about 1 a.m. Saturday, prosecutors said. The impact threw Macro from his wheelchair, which split in two, prosecutors said. Macro was pronounced dead at a hospital.

A Middleboro man is facing charges after police say his vehicle struck and killed a 24-year-old man in a wheelchair.
The crash happened around 1 a.m. on Saturday on Onset Avenue near Aunt Hannah’s Lane.
The victim, Joshua Macro, later died at Tobey Hospital.
John Vandeusen, 28, is being charged with Motor Vehicle Homicide, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Stay in Marked Lanes.
He is being held without bail until his arraignment on Tuesday morning.
Police did not indicate what factors may have played a role in the crash.
