Third-time drunken driver hits school bus, leaves scene, police say.

A 54-year-old Cheboygan County woman allegedly was driving drunk for a third time when she sideswiped a school bus Wednesday, then left the scene, police said.
A 54-year-old Cheboygan County woman allegedly was driving drunk for a third time when she sideswiped a school bus Wednesday, then left the scene, police said. The woman, of Wolverine, was to be arraigned Thursday, April 17, in Cheboygan County District Court. Cheboygan County sheriff's deputies said the woman was driving in Wolverine about 3:45 p.m. when she crossed the center line in a curve and hit an oncoming bus carrying special needs children. The crash happened at South Straights Highway and East Main Street in Wolverine. Her car, a PT Cruiser, hit the center of the oncoming bus. The crash caused significant damage to the PT Cruiser and also popped a tire on the bus. None of the children in the bus were injured.
