Semi trailer, train collide in Brown County

COBDEN '€” A semi driver failed to stop at a railroad stop sign and his trailer was struck by a train in a small Brown County town Friday morning, according to the Brown County Sheriff's Office. The first engine on the train, owned by Canadian Pacific, had minor damage and had to be moved for inspection. The accident happened at about 9:45 a.m. at a crossing near the intersection of County Road 7 and Center Street in the town of Cobden. Cobden is a small town of about 36 residents about six miles west of Sleepy Eye on Highway 14. The semi's trailer was totaled but the tractor was still drivable.
