Christopher Maples, a 56-year-old Strafford, MO. resident, was driving a Dodge Journey in the Westbound lane of I-44. The report states that at roughly 3:38pm, Maples lost control of the vehicle, struck the median and went airborne, rolling over the median cables and striking a Ford Edge, driven by Melanie McDaris, 47 of Hartville.

The driver of the Dodge Journey was Christopher B. Maples, 56, of Strafford. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:05 p.m.
