Montana Highway Patrol trooper Todd Hagenbuch said the woman was driving northbound on Pryor Creek Road about eight miles from Pryor.

Bearclaw was pronounced dead at the scene. Cause of death was blunt force trauma, Deputy Coroner Cliff Mahoney said.
A 52-year-old Billings woman identified as Cheryl Bearclaw died following in a single-vehicle crash on Pryor Creek Road, about 8 miles north of Pryor. According to Montana Highway Patrol, Bearclaw was northbound on Pryor Creek Road about eight miles from Pryor when shortly before 10 p.m., her vehicle nearly struck another vehicle, swerved across the oncoming traffic lane, struck an embankment on the side of the road, causing the car to go over a fence, finally landing about 75 feet from the roadway. Bearclaw was not wearing a seat belt, and wss pronounced dead at the scene.
