A 70-year-old woman was struck by vehicle driven by Victor W. Nowrocki, 60, of Dover Park as she crossed Monroe Avenue, near Roosevelt Road, just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Brighton Police Capt. David Catholdi. The woman was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries, he said.

Brighton police Friday identified the pedestrian killed while crossing Monroe Avenue Wednesday as a temporary town resident.
Man Charged in Fatal Crash
Brighton Police continue to investigate Wednesday night’s pedestrian accident on Monroe Avenue that killed Carol Shabbarrasi, 72. The driver Victor Nowrocki, 60, struck Shabbarrasi around 7:30 p.m. right in front of the Towpath Motel.
Nowrocki was charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, a felony, and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
