An off-duty New York City firefighter is charged with DWI after police say he hit two women, one of them pregnant, while driving drunk in the Bronx Wednesday evening. The incident happened at the intersection of White Plains Road and Westchester Avenue just before 6 p.m. Authorities say 39-year-old Sean Farrell was traveling northbound on White Plains Road when he turned right onto Westchester Avenue and struck the two women, ages 42 and 38, in the crosswalk. Both were taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition. One of the women is seven months pregnant. Farrell stayed on the scene, where police determined he was drunk. It was his second DWI arrest in the past ten years, which elevates the charge. He was also charged with refusal to take a breath test.
