Sick Passenger Struck, Killed by Bus After Asking Cab Driver to Pull Over: Witnesses

A 23-year-old man was struck and killed by a city bus after witnesses say he got out of a livery cab Friday in the Bronx because he was feeling unwell. The unidentified victim was in the cab with another passenger just before 3 a.m. when he asked the driver to pull over near West 231st Street and Kingsbridge Avenue, according to officials and witnesses on scene. When he got out of the car, he leaned on the door and was hit by the bus, witnesses said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Both the cab driver and the bus driver are cooperating with police.

Police said 23-year-old Luis Inoa was riding in a livery cab westbound on West 231st Street when he asked the driver to stop. He then got out of the cab and began crossing the street in an erratic manor, police said.
