Authorities are investigating the death of a teenager who was killed Friday night after crashing his car into Mahopac High School.

The wreck happened around 11:30 p.m.

Investigators say the vehicle entered the school property through an exit road at a high rate of speed.

The car went airborne when it hit a rail and then struck the east side wall of the school, damaging the wall, windows and a classroom.

The 19-year old male was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at Putnam Hospital. His identity has not yet been released.

Photos show the impact smashed windows in the school and left the car resting on its right side.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
