ELDERLY WOMAN KILLED WHEN DRIVER BEING PULLED OVER CRASHES INTO HER VEHICLE IN QUEENS
Sources say the driver of a BMW SUV was wanted in connection with a robbery and struck the victim's vehicle and then two parked cars that were pushed up onto the sidewalk.
It is believed that the suspect ran a red light before blindsiding the woman, who was driving down Linden Boulevard. Officers and EMS performed CPR, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the collision, police say the suspect -- identified as 51-year-old Derek Perkins -- attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after a brief struggle with the officers.
