A person died while driving away from police after stealing a car, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. WCNC Charlotte reports the car was stolen around 9 p.m. on Sunday on South Tryon Street near Steele Creek Road. The victim told police that their car had been stolen at gunpoint.
