Woman killed in hit-and-run early on Christmas morning on I-26

Pamela Alexander, of Whitmire, hit a traffic cone in a construction zone on I-26 near mile marker 46 in Henderson County, stopped in the traffic lane to try to dislodge the cone, and then fell out of the car, Contas said. It happened around 12:30 a.m. A witness behind her stopped to help and was moving Alexander's car out of the traffic lane when Alexander was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer, Contas said.
