Man killed in West Chester auto accident identified

Strader then ran the red light at Port Union Road and hit a car driven by Troy Stapelton, 62, of Fairfield, police said. Stapelton, 62, was pronounced dead a short time later, police said. He was a driver for Universal Transport Systems.
One person was killed in a crash in West Chester on Thursday morning. Police said that around 8:30 a.m., Terrence Strader, 32, of West Chester, ran into the back of a car with his pickup, then passed the car and continued southbound on Ohio 747. Strader then ran the red light at Port Union Road and hit a car driven by Troy Stapelton, 62, of Fairfield, police said. Stapelton, 62, was pronounced dead a short time later, police said. He was a driver for Universal Transport Systems. Strader was taken to West Chester Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. "Was there a medical condition going on, was there another factor going on? Sometimes they flee because of driver's license status or insurance status or a lot of different factors, sometimes they just get scared," Lt. Barry Walker said. "That's one thing we'll be looking into, what could have provoked him to leave that other scene."
