Police say Aaron Fields, 22, was traveling westbound on Refugee Road when he went left of center, striking the vehicle driven by Tanya Knipp, 32, who was driving eastbound on Refugee Road, east of Winchester Pike.

A woman and her daughter died in an east Columbus head-on car crash Friday evening. Tanya Knipp and three passengers were heading east on Refugee Road at approximately 11 p.m. Another driver was driving westbound when his vehicle entered the oncoming lane, crashing into Knipp's vehicle head-on. Tanya Knipp and her daughter, Tessa Knipp, 16, were pronounced deceased at the crash site. Rodney Knipp, 36, and Malik Benjamin, 18, were passengers in Knipp's vehicle. The survivors were transported to a local hospital. The accident is under investigation
