According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Rogers County Sheriff's Office was contacted by a boater who said a second boat hit him at a high rate of speed.

The collision happened about 12:10 p.m. when a boater — later identified as 58-year-old Sammie Smith — called the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office and told a dispatcher that another boat had crashed into his at a high speed. Smith said he couldn’t see the other boat’s driver.
