Two drivers died Friday in a head-on collision in Linn County, but a 15-month-old child in the back seat of one of the cars was rushed to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
Shortly before 3 p.m. Joseph Atterbury was headed eastbound on Oregon 34 when he lost control for undetermined reasons. He crossed into westbound traffic and collided head-on with Mary A. Welch. Both of the drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Atterbury's 15-month-old child was in the back seat at the time and was rushed to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis where he is expected to survive.
