1 dead in Marion Co. crash

SALEM, Ore. -- A two-vehicle crash on Cordon Road left one driver dead and another critically injured late Wednesday evening according to the Marion County Sheriff's office. Deputies closed the section of Cordon between Herrin Road and Ward Drive overnight while investigating the crash according to Lt. Chris Baldridge. The Willamette Valley Communications Center reports public works had been cleaning up debris after the on-scene investigation was completed by the sheriff's office before 5 a.m. this morning.

Silverton man, 19, killed in Marion Co. crash

SALEM, Ore. – A 19-year-old Silverton man died Wednesday when the car he was driving crashed head-on into a truck towing a trailer in Marion County. Joseph Spear was driving a Scion TC on Howell Praire Road NE when his car crossed the center line for an unknown reason and hit a truck near Conifer Street, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
