Two people were injured and a horse was euthanized after a car crashed into a buggy in Lancaster County on Monday morning.
Two people were injured and a horse was euthanized after a car crashed into a buggy in Lancaster County on Monday morning. The crash happened on the 1000 block of West Main Street in Upper Leacock Township. The area is just west of Peters Road. Officials said Herbert Nixdorf, 56, was driving his Dodge Avenger when he hit the back of the buggy as it was stopping to make a turn. The buggy occupants, a 49-year-old mother and her 6-year-old son, of Ronks were ejected and suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to Lancaster General Hospital. A Lancaster veterinarian had to put down the horse after the crash. Police said Nixdorf was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
