A man is fighting for his life after police say he ran into the street and was struck by a car.

A man is fighting for his life after police say he ran into the street and was struck by a car.

Investigators say the 35-year-old man ran into the northbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard near Pratt Street shortly before 2 a.m. in the Summerdale section of the city.

As he was in the lanes, he was struck by a car that was driving by. The man suffered a severe head injury in the crash. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center where he is currently in critical condition.

The driver stayed at the scene of the accident. Police say they don’t expect to file any charges against her.

The inner lanes of the Boulevard were shut down for a few hours but reopened shortly before 5 a.m.

Uncle timmy im sorry we only had 5 year in each others lives. I wish it hadnt been that way. Isaiah loved going to mommoms and you and dad played with him. Im going to try and start making time for mommom and the kids. After this it shows me how short life really is. Im going to miss you. I hope you were greeted by friendly faces! :'(

R.I.P Timmy, you will forever be in my heart! We all miss you so much! I was so proud of you, you were doing GREAT! My life will never be the same with out seeing your gorgeous smile and you beautiful blue eyes. I know you will be watching over all your family and friends. You showed us how love really feels. I know it was a short time but I am blessed to share that time with you. I'm gonna miss you so much baby but I know for sure 1 day we will be together again.
