One person killed, after their car collides with another vehicle at the intersection of Abbeville Avenue and Laurens Street in Aiken.

One person is dead in a morning collision in Aiken.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety said the driver, who has not been identified, was traveling east on Abbeville Avenue just before 9 a.m. when he failed to yield right to a vehicle traveling south on Laurens Street.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died as a result of injuries. No one else was injured in the crash.

Laurens Street between Abbeville and Edgefield avenues remains closed while police continue their investigation.
